Kenney, James “Jim”
Retired State Farm Agent (31 years)

In the early hours of October 14th, we lost a beloved husband, father and grandfather - Jim Kenney - at the Kingston General Hospital, after a brief illness. Jim died peacefully surrounded by our deep love. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who gave generously of his great devotion to us all. He dedicated his whole life to us, his family and was a true friend to many near and far. His happiest times were with us at our cottage and his ‘beloved’ farm. We, his family, are deeply saddened: his wife Gladys of 60 years, his daughter Shannon Dowling, his grandchildren Shane and Brynna Dowling and Caitlin, Michael and Joseph Kenney and his brother Cecil Kenney.

We pray he is with those who went before him: his beloved son and daughter Chris and Joanne Kenney, his sister Mary Irene O’Hearn, and his brother Wilfred Kenney and infant brother Paul Kenney, as well as his mother and father Joseph and Anna Kenney.

Jim died peacefully of heart failure, and we pray that he is now at peace, watching over us as he always did knowing that we love him now and forever and missing him always.

Funeral Mass will be held in St. Joseph’s Church, 392 Palace Road, on Tuesday, October 18th at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the beginning of Mass. A reception will be held in the church hall immediately following, with the Rite of Committal in St. Columbanus Cemetery, Elgin, Ontario. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
