<div itemprop="description">Henderson, Stephen Joseph <br /> <br />It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen Joseph Henderson on January 7, 2015 at the age of 56. Lover of all sports especially hockey, ball and weight training. He spent his later years refereeing the game he loved enabling him to continue being on the ice with his friends. Employed at the Department of National Defence for over 35 years. <br /> <br />Born and raised in Kingston, Ontario on October 13, 1958. Son of the late Herbert Joseph and Charlotte (nee Joyce) Henderson. He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend Sandy (nee Murano), his sons Taylor Joseph Henderson, Brandon Kyle (Kara) Henderson and Nicholas G. Murano. Stephen was fortunate to have two wonderful grandchildren who he adored and was very proud of; Stephen Joseph &quot;Little Steve&quot; and Hailey Rose &quot;Princess&quot; Henderson. Brother to Barry, Terry, Chris (Selina), Mark (Pat). Also brother to Raymond (Pat) and Brian (Donna) on his mother's side. Brother-in-law to Pat (Linda), Mario (Pina), Rosa (Noe) and Angela (Angelo). Much loved uncle to many and friend to all. <br /> <br />Thank you to Dr. James Beliveau, family physician, for your compassion, support and great sense of humour. Also thank you to Dr. Sean Taylor, ALS specialist, for your assistance during a very difficult journey. <br /> <br />Family and friends will be received at the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home - 435 Davis Drive (Taylor Kidd Blvd. &amp; Centennial Drive) on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 1-3 &amp; 6-9 p.m. Cremation to follow at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. <br /> <br />For those who wish, donations in Stephen's memory may be made to the ALS Society or the charity of your choice. <br /> <br />Sharing Memories at www.gftompkins-township.ca <br /></div>
