<div itemprop="description">Sister Mary Marcella Farrell CND<br /><br />Farrell, Sister Mary Marcella (Sister St. Maurice of the Saviour) - Peacefully at the Providence Motherhouse, Kingston, ON, Sister Mary Marcella Farrell of the Congregation of Notre Dame died on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in her ninety-sixth year. She was predeceased by her parents Maurice Farrell and Josephine Buschman, her brothers Father Francis SJ, Monsignor Raymond, Patrick and Maurice and her sisters Rita Farrell, Margaret Cainen and Rose Heffernan. She is survived by her sisters Bernadette Farrell of Montreal and Maureen Farrell of Sault St. Marie, her sister-in-law Barbara Farrell of Sudbury, ON and many nieces and nephews. Sister Mary will be fondly remembered by her religious community, her former students and collaborators in ministry. Born in Copper Cliff, ON she entered the Congregation of Notre Dame in 1937 making profession in 1939. In the following years she dedicated her life to education first as a teacher and then as an administrator in Toronto, Brockville and Montreal. Beginning in 1958 Sister Mary was called to Community Service as Formation Director, Local Leader in several communities and as a Provincial Leader in her Religious Province from 1971 to 1977. In 1978 she began a ministry in the Toronto Diocesan Marriage Tribunal from which she retired in 2010. Friends will be received at the Township Chapel of Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home, 435 Davis Drive, (Taylor Kidd Blvd and Centennial Drive) on Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 pm and from 7:00-9:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joseph Church, 392 Palace Road on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 11:00 am, followed by the Rite of Committal in St. Mary&rsquo;s Cemetery, Kingston, ON. <br /><br /></div>
