Dillon, Michael "Leon"
"well done good and faith servant" (Matt 25:23)
It is with deep sadness that the family of Leon Dillon announce his passing at Providence Manor. Leon took his leave on February 4, 2016 with the same dignity and acceptance that he lived his 94 years. He was humble and honest, a man of faith, integrity, and generosity. He was admired and respected by his large family and many friends. Leon was born April 11, 1921 in Wilkinson, Ontario to parents Eugene and Gertrude Dillon and spent much of his life in the Kingston area. A bricklayer by trade, Leon worked on many construction projects and retired from KPH maintenance staff in 1986. He was an avid card player, a devoted Habs fan, and enjoyed bowling and pool. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus and a regular visitor of the sick and shut ins.

Leon is predeceased by his beloved wife, Shirley (nee Potter) and his dear parents and much loved brothers and sisters and their spouses: Bernard (Dot), Keith, Cecil (Doreen), Evelyn Mulroney (Clarence), Bonnie Harrison (Gerald), Dorothy Kidd (Mike), Loretta Mills (Jack), Lucille Tuepah (Floyd) and Rose Joyce (Vince). He is the much loved uncle of 54 nieces and nephews, 5 of whom, Jackie Mills, Diane Bannon, Jimmy Dillon, Anna Kirkpatrick and Pat Dillon have predeceased him.

Leon is survived by beloved daughters Colleen Purcell and Joanne Elllieff (Adrien), his dear sister Patricia Dwyre (Charlie deceased), and sisters-in-law Betty Dillon and Audrey Lacey. Much loved Poppa to Colin (Carolyn Wilson), Sean (Monica Skelton) and Caitlin (Cody Wheeler) and great uncle to many grand nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOME, 435 Davis Drive (Centennial Dr and Taylor-Kidd Blvd) on Monday, February 8th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church (Palace Road) on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Rite of Committal with prayers in St. Mary's Cemetery.

For those wishing, donations to the Archdiocese of Kingston, Priests' Retirement Fund or the Partners in Mission Food Bank would be appreciated by his family.
