Passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in his 84th year. He is predeceased by his wife Rita (nee Jelley) in 2003. Loving father to Sharron (David) Long of Mississauga, Barb (Brian) Fleming of Kingston, Colleen (Tom) Buchanan of Kingston, Noreen Kealey of Kingston, Doreen Kealey of Ancaster and Richard (Lisa) Kealey of Barrie. Loving Grandfather and Papa of Daniel, Melissa, Mike (Jess), Jen, Jeff, Scott predeceased, Jessica, Rebecca. Chris, Sara, Ashley Jack, Aidan, Sarah & Daniel. Great-grandfather to Austin.
Son of the late Edwin Kealey & Mina Brennan of Venosta, Quebec. Brother of Clara (Michael predeceased), Hogan of Farrelton, Quebec and brother of Donald (predeceased) of Venosta, Quebec.
A special thank you to the Cancer Centre of Eastern Ontario. His nurses Lin James & Wendy Orr and Dr. Wendy McCullough and the staff of Paramed Kingston.
Family and friends will be received at the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home - 435 Davis Drive (Taylor Kidd Blvd. & Centennial Drive) on Friday, August 22m 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Church 1111 Taylor Kidd Blvd. on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. Rite of committal prayers will take place at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to St. Paul the Apostle Church in Mel's memory.
