Dad passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, at the Kingston General Hospital on March 18, 2013. John is now with his beloved wife Mary (2004). Cherished father of Betty McLaughlin (Tim), Mary Ann Emmons (Randy), John Jr. (Nienke), Patricia Bauder (Jeff);proud grandfather of Ann Marie Sutton (Andrew) and Chris Emmons (Samantha), Mikela and Trevor Witjes, Nolan and Brandon Bauder; loving great-grandfather of Charlotte and Evelyn Sutton, the late Maria (2011) and Lucas Emmons. Predeceased by his parents, five brothers and two sisters of Holland. John will be missed by his surviving sister Hennie Bloemberg, brothers Bill (Riny) and Josh (Rita) and extended family in Holland and Canada. Friends will be received at the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home, 435 Davis Drive on Thursday, March 21st, 7-9 pm and Friday March 22nd, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of the Christian Burial in The Church of the Good Thief, 743 King Street West, on Saturday March 23, 2013 at 11 am. Cremation following with a family interment service at a later date. Memorial donations to the Church of the Good Thief Building Fund (by cheque) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Relatives and friends are invited to sign a book of condolences at www.gftompkins-township.ca
