<div itemprop="description">Power, Fergus <br /> <br />Retired 22 year distinguished military career with the Signals Regiment <br /> <br />Retired 18 year Correctional Officer at Kingston Penitentiary <br /> <br />Member of RCL Branch 560 <br /> <br />Passed away peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the age 79. Beloved husband to Ruby of 28 years. Loving father to Chris (Cheryl), Patrick (Tammy) and predeceased by daughters Paula (Glenn) Deschamps, Valerie (Claudio) Medeiros and survived by their mother Hope Power, step father to Nancy (Doug) LeDrew. Cherished Poppy to Amey (Derek) Wadden, Jessica Power (Shawn), Tyler (Amanda) Medeiros, Alicia Power, Zachary LeDrew, Carter Power and great-grandfather to Meredith Medeiros. He is survived by his 10 brother &amp; Sisters, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws in Newfoundland and predeceased by his sister and twin brother. Survived by his numerous nieces and nephews. Fergus had a love for the outdoors, family and friends. <br /> <br />The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of KIDD 2 ICU for their care and compassion. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Family and friends will be received at the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home - Township Chapel 435 Davis Drive (Taylor Kidd Blvd. &amp; Centennial Drive) on Sunday July 12, 2015 from 1-4 &amp; 6-9 p.m. Funeral service will be celebrated in the chapel on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Private burial of ashes will be held in St. Joseph's Newfoundland at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart &amp; Stroke Foundation, U.H.K.F. - Kingston General Hospital or to the Canadian Diabetes Association in Memory of Fergus would be appreciated by the family.
