<div itemprop="description">VELLA, ANTHONY &ldquo;TONY&rdquo; <br /><br />Peacefully, at home, on June 27th, 2015. Beloved husband of Connie. Beloved father of Mario (Doreen) and Gloria Vella-Bowry (Calvin). Cherished grandfather of Lauren Vella, Grace and Joshua Bowry. Dear brother of Mary (Paul) Buttigieg of London, ON, Agnes (Michael) Azzopardi, Margaret (Elia) Borg-Bonaci, Marion (Joe) Mallia, Lucy (Max) Farrugia, all from Malta and predeceased by his sister Josephine Falzon and brother Gaetan Vella Anastasi. Fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Mary Vella Anastasi, brother-in-law Joseph Falzon, and many nieces and nephews.<br /> <br />Tony was an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish and the Knights of Columbus. He was well known in the community for his contributions of faith through his creation of a Nativity exhibition. He will be remembered fondly by many students and staff of the Algonquin Lakeshore Catholic District School Board. <br /><br />Thank you Father Leo Byrne, Friar Edward Debono, and Friar David Collins, and his pastoral care team for all their support. Thank you to the doctors and nurses of the Kingston General Hospital and Hotel Dieu Hospital. <br /><br />Friends will be received at the church of St. Paul the Apostle, 1111 Taylor-Kidd Blvd on Friday, July 3rd, 2015 from 11:00a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Interment of the urn in Ottawa, at a later date. <br /><br />For those wishing, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or towards the creation of the Saint George Preca award (in remembrance of Anthony Vella) to recognize aspiring secondary school trades students and their contributions to the community. Please make cheques payable to Holy Cross Secondary School. <br /></div>
