<div itemprop="description">Alexander William Toth, SBSStJ <br /> <br />Peacefully at Arbour Heights on Saturday, September 14th, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (nee Francis). Loved father of Randy (Heather), Rick (Deb) and Pamela. Cherished by his grandchildren: Cory, Amanda, Skylar, Tyler and Logan. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Agnes and his younger brother Frank. <br /> <br />Born in 1924 in Hungary, Al immigrated to Canada at the age of 5 on the passenger ship &quot;RMS Alaunia&quot;. He was a proud member of the 1st Canadian Parachute Corps during WWII. Al was a longtime volunteer with St. John Ambulance, rising to the rank of Lt. Col. and Corp Superintendent for Eastern Ontario. In 1969 Al was granted admission to the &quot;Most Venerable Order of the Knights of Sir John&quot; by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for his volunteer work with St. John Ambulance. The honour was presented by Governor General Roland Michener. A member of Storington Lion's Club since 1973, past president, Zone Chairman for 11 East and Deputy District Governor of Region A-3. As well, Al was a longtime volunteer for the CNIB. <br /> <br />In keeping with Al's wishes, cremation has taken place. Private Interment of Ashes at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens, Glenburnie. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind would be appreciated.</div>
